About RA Navigator

A navigator does not own the ship, sell the cargo, or take a commission from the port. A navigator reads the water and plots the course. That is the whole business model of this site.

What this desk is

RA Navigator is a comparison and education property for the registered-agent decision — the one filing every LLC and corporation in America must make in every state it touches, and the one most owners make with the least information. We publish the requirement state by state, the structure of the market's pricing, and the questions that separate a staffed legal post from a rented mailbox with good graphic design.

What it is not

  • Not a registered agent. We cannot be appointed, cannot receive process for your company, and do not sell agent service at any price.
  • Not a ranking. There is no "best registered agent" list here, no scores for real companies, no tested-and-rated claims — because we do not test providers, and we will not dress up advertising as measurement.
  • Not legal advice. Requirements are summarized from the state filing offices' own published rules. Statutes change; confirm the current rule with the filing office or with counsel before you rely on it.

How we compare, when we compare

We compare categories and structures: commercial agent against self-appointment; national networks against single-state firms; teaser pricing against renewal pricing. Category-level differences are real and checkable — a price architecture either reprices at renewal or it doesn't. Company-level quality — how fast a specific firm forwards a summons on a rainy Tuesday — cannot be honestly known from a desk, so we do not pretend to know it. Instead we publish the twelve questions that surface it before you sign.

How the desk is funded

Plainly: this site carries no affiliate links and accepts no placement fees. The desk is funded by its publisher's sister service businesses. It is maintained as a sister property alongside working service desks — including PA CROP Services, which provides registered-office services in Pennsylvania, the state whose CROP system our Pennsylvania plate explains. That relationship is disclosed here and on the Pennsylvania plate, and it buys PA CROP nothing on these pages: Pennsylvania is charted by the same rules as the other fifty.

Corrections

Charts are corrected when the water changes. When a state moves a filing office or renames a role, the plate is amended. Every plate carries the date it was last verified against the filing office's published rules, so the record of the page is on the page. If you find a sounding that reads wrong, the desk would rather hear it than be right — that is what the chart is for.
